Last night we came back home from Frankfurt. The Chef did his job quite well and over all the whole Book Fair – specially the Icelandic Hall – was a huge success. To make a long story short the Frankfurt Book Fair is the biggest Book Fair in the world – with over 300.000 visitors. Every year there is one country highlighted and this year is was our beloved Iceland. Over 200 titles had been translated to German and the Icelandic Hall – or Forum – was amazing. We hosted the opening party and the Chef was in charge of the food – hence the 500+ kilos of food transported to Frankfurt.

The opening party was a raving success and they estimate that there were somewhere between 1500-2000 guests in the party. The food was great and everyone was on cloud nine. That was on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday Volli cooked at the Gourmet Gallery which went great and on Friday there was another party at the Icelandic Hall. On the menu was a seafood soup for 400 people. A few hours before the party started there was a change in numbers when the organizers realized that more people were coming. So the Chef made a soup for 900 people. That´s 225 liters or 60 us gallons!

But the soup was amazing – I tell you and over all we couldn´t be happier with the whole thing.

There is a picture of a cod brandade attached – I don´t have the recipe but guess what – I´ll get the chef to give it to me and I´ll post it this week.
