Greetings my friends! Well – I have some pretty big news to share with you all. You know in life you sometimes have really-amazing-news and then you occasionally have ridiculously-amazingly-good-news-that-make-your-heart-want-to-burst. Well – this is the latter.
I am proud to announce that one of The Basic Cookbook team has just received an Emmy nomination. Yes – you read correctly my friends. The real deal – an hardcore-gold-covered Emmy nomination.
The member in question is non other than our out of this world amazingly talented Nunni – or Gunnar Konráðsson if you prefer who is the genius behind all of our photos and videos.
He´s being nominated for Outstanding Cinematography in News Coverage/Documentaries for the documentary Iceland Volcano Eruption. The doc was made for National Geographic Channel and in his category are entries such as 60 Minutes.
Congratulations my friend – I couldn’t be any prouder!

I’m speechless – but not in the way that I am SURPRISED – because what you all have created, done and been dedicated yourselves to is AMAZING. I am so proud of all of you (and the committee at the Emmys for realizing) to be where you are a:) so quickly, b:) with such humility and generous spirit and c:) hell- I can’t think of a c:) but I am so excited!
